Our Bio & Mission:

About Spicy Chef Mike: Born in 1975 in Houa Khong, Laos, Chef Mike’s journey from hardship to culinary success is a story of resilience and passion. As a first-generation Iu-Mien American, his family fled the Vietnam War, arriving in the U.S. in 1980. Growing up in Oakland, California, Mike faced many challenges, including food scarcity. His family relied on food stamps and home-grown vegetables to survive, but it was in the kitchen where Mike found his calling. Inspired by his grandmother and adoptive mom, both skilled cooks, Mike learned to create flavorful dishes at the age of 12 using exotic ingredients from Laos. He quickly mastered the art of using bold spices and stretching meals to feed his family. These early experiences shaped his unique cooking style, which blends fiery flavors with creativity. Chef Mike’s signature hot sauce, Spicy Chef Mike’s Exotic Hot Sauce, has become a hit in local markets, capturing the essence of his bold and unapologetically spicy cuisine. His vision goes beyond food—he aims to give back to the Mien community by creating a scholarship foundation for underprivileged youth, inspiring others with his message of perseverance.

Our Mission is to craft, exotic hot sauces inspired by the rich flavors of Laos and the Iu-Mien culture. We aim to ignite culinary creativity and passion through our products while giving back to the community that shaped us. By using a portion of our proceeds to support scholarships for underprivileged youth, we empower the next generation to overcome obstacles and pursue their dream, one fiery bite at a time.
